The shape of this bow is millennia old, however it is still used today in many laminated bows. I was looking for a style of bow which could be made relatively short ( 58" nack to nack ) out of natural materials. This would lend itself for use in the bush for hunting, or up in a tree stand. It will take up to a 28" draw and can be made any poundage. The limb shape makes for an easy initial draw and a steady, smooth build-up of energy to full draw. In cold conditions when you are still for long periods, this could be an advantage to reaching full draw when hunting. The core is made similarly to the other bows, but the riser is placed on the other side at glue-up. This allows me to make a comfortable grip, with a carved-out place for the web of your hand to fit. A repeatable grip is achieved this way. Limb tips are overlaid with horn and wood and left longer to easily fit the pouches on your bow stringer. This bow is very light to hold, easy to aim and a real pleasure to shoot.
