Tempered Bamboo Longbow

 

   

 

     

  This is truly a unique bow that catches everyone’s eye.  A center strip of hardwood; I like to use osage for this, is tapered towards the tips.  I then temper 72” strips of bamboo and taper them so that they run from tip to tip.  All the power fibers are left intact to give a very smooth feeling and exciting performance.  The color of the bamboo really accents the wood and the grip is made from rhea leather. (South American Ostrich)  There is a lot of work that goes into this bow, but the results are worth it.
